Sub Pop started out as a fan-zine back in 1980 called Subterranean Pop. This here, issue No. 5, is the first to feature actual music (on a cassette tape). The cover art is by the incredible Charles Burns, who went on to create the graphic novel cult classic Black Hole and draw many a New Yorker cover.
